Many studies focus on the suicidality of adolescents in a general outpatient setting, while this study targets a subset of young people who present to the hospital for a psychiatric emergency. Not only does this article examine risk factors associated with potential suicide risk of those adolescents and young adults in a hospital setting, it also presents a screening tool that is helpful to use in the screening process as well as every day practice.

SSCP Continuing Education Task Force

The above link is part of an initiative to report Continuing Education programs that fail to fully meet APA’s Standards and Criteria for Approval of Sponsors of Continuing Education for Psychologists, despite the sponsors of these CE programs having APA approval. The link allows for the easy reporting of “scientifically egregious” CE programs directly to CESA so that they may re-evaluate the organization’s standing as an APA-Approved Sponsor

This article describes the SCCAP’s efforts to increase dissemination of EBPs for youth via a web-based initiative (INDICES). The authors outline practical recommendations for youth-serving professionals to capitalize on the benefits of INDICES in their work with youth and families.

This special issue will examine the available research on potentially harmful therapies, broadly defined. Such treatments encompass interventions or therapist styles that are harmful to many who receive them across a variety of target problems, as well as harmful treatments for specific disorders.
