Yen-Ling Chen, B.S. is currently a third-year graduate student working with Dr. Andrew Freeman in the clinical psychology program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Yen-Ling’s research focuses on identifying risk factors for psychiatric hospitalization in youth and developing risk algorithms to improve clinical decision-making. Yen-Ling is also interested in how culture plays a role in adult’s perception of child psychopathology. She received a fellowship for studying abroad from the government of her home country, Taiwan, to explore cultural mechanisms of perceptions of disruptive behaviors in youth. Yen-Ling is bilingual in Mandarin and English, and she is enthusiastic about breaking the language barriers and making mental health resources more accessible around the world.
