Brochure

We warmly welcome you to the APA 2023 Convention in Washington, D.C.! We are so thrilled to have you with us. With the support of the SCAAP board, we as the programming chairs have worked hard to create a program of presentations designed to offer attendees cutting edge research and clinical practice recommendations in the area of child and adolescent psychology.

Each symposium includes internationally known experts in research in their respective areas. Our programming includes presentations that address a wide range of topics, including autism spectrum disorders, suicidal ideation and behavior, multi-informant assessment of youth mental health, and much more. We will also have presentations that
follow our theme of “Innovation and Impact.”

We have several highlighted presentations that we would love for you to attend and share with your colleagues. On Friday, Yo Jackson, PhD, will share her presidential address
entitled, “Innovation and Impact in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology,” and Stephen Hinshaw, PhD, our Distinguished Career Award winner, will present on “Clinical Science and Humanization: The Needed Synthesis to Promote Thriving in Youth and Families.” On Saturday, Bruce Chorpita, PhD, our keynote speaker, will discuss how as a field we might engineer a vision of “therapeutic intelligence.”

Please make sure to check out the exciting schedule of programming in the hospitality suite which will include opportunities for networking and obtaining mentorship.
Our hope is that you will have many opportunities to learn, network, and enjoy yourself!

Be sure to follow us on Twitter:(@SCCAP53). We will be posting reminders of upcoming talks. If you use social media, be sure to tag us with #SCCAPatAPA, #APA2023, and #SCCAP53.

We look forward to seeing you in D.C.
