Culturally Adapting Psychotherapy for Ethnic-Racial Minoritized Youth

Cultural adaptations to youth mental health treatment can make treatment more compatible with a client’s cultural values, beliefs, and practices.

In this webinar, Dr. Alayna Park will provide an overview of three leading conceptual models of cultural adaptation. She will describe clinical situations when ethnic-racial minoritized youths may benefit from culturally adapted treatment. She will also present on various cultural adaptations that may improve the cultural compatibility of mental health treatment for ethnic-racial minoritized youths.

Presenter Bio:

Alayna Park, PhD University of Oregon

Dr. Alayna Park is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Oregon and a licensed psychologist. Her community-engaged research focuses on identifying strategies to improve the quality and effectiveness of mental health services for youth of color, using intervention and implementation science.
