Description: SCCAP is currently seeking nominations for the inaugural award for Early Career Contributions to Diversity Science. This award recognizes early career psychologists (less the 10 years post-doctorate degree at time of nomination) who have made important contributions to equity, diversity, and inclusion through their research in clinical child and adolescent psychology. Contributions considered include scientific impact as well as public impact of research.
Application period: January 15-February 21
Announcement: April 15
Recipients of the award are given a plaque and a recognition stipend of $5000. If an invitation is extended, the recipient is strongly encouraged to accept the invitation to present on their area of expertise in one of the many venues SCCAP has for providing educational opportunities for its members. If travel is required, SCCAP will provide additional funds. Awardees will have a featured story in the InBalance Newsletter.
Eligibility:
- The awardee shall be no more than 10 years post-doctoral degree at the time of nomination.
- The nominee must be a member of the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (SCCAP) for at least one year at the time of application.
- Self-nominations will be accepted.
- Elected board members of SCCAP Division 53 are not eligible.
- Applicants must be domiciled in the United States of America.
SCCAP encourages and welcomes nominations of individuals with diverse backgrounds with respect to age, ethnicity, disability, gender, geography, nationality, race, religion, and sexual orientation.
Nomination Instructions: Please submit the following materials.
- A nomination letter detailing the important research contributions the nominee has made to date. Please provide specific information that will allow reviewers to consider the scientific impact and public impact the nominee’s research has had on diversity science.
- A recent copy of the nominee’s CV
- 2 publications that exemplify the research contributions the candidate has made.
