Applying to Clinical Internships: Insider Tips for Maximizing Your Success – 7/24/19

Applying to Clinical Internships: Insider Tips for Maximizing Your Success

Webinar Overview:

The pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship can be one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of a psychologist’s career. Applying for an internship can be one of the most stressful. In this webinar, we bring together training directors from graduate programs and internship sites to provide strategies and tips for making the most of the summer leading up to internship applications. We will also hold an open Q&A session, so you can ask individualized questions. In addition, SCCAP members will have access to the online discussion forum after the webinar where panelists will respond to questions for 30 days after the webinar!

In this webinar, panelists will cover these critical topics:

  • Shaping and organizing application materials (e.g., CV, cover letter, essay) to highlight your clinical experiences and competencies
  • Choosing your letter writers to reflect your best selves
  • Selecting the child/adolescent internship sites best fit to your career goals
  • Differentiating clinical- and research-oriented sites
  • Criteria that internships directors use to review applications
  • Commonly asked interview questions
