Overview: The Communications Committee serves to enhance communications amongst members to enhance member engagement, increase awareness of division activities and initiatives, enhance divisional recognition by members and non-members alike, and disseminate educational information pertaining to the science and practice of clinical child and adolescent psychology. Some of the networks and platforms included in this mission include the website, listserv, social media, and newsletter. The committee is also committed to exploring novel platforms to facilitate member communications.
What We Do: Our Social Media presence is an on-going endeavor for our committee! We post member-specific events and benefits in addition to educational content targeting not only SCCAP members, but the larger community whose interests involve clinical child and adolescent psychology. We post on Bluesky, Instagram, Facebook, and X.
Aside from Social Media, the Communications Committee may enlist volunteer committee members to assist with time-limited initiatives such as planning SCCAP’s approach to branding, maintaining and updating the website, and other communication and/or branding related tasks.
How We Connect: The Social Media Subcommittee meets monthly. All other meetings are scheduled based on current initiatives and needs.
Current Initiatives: The committee is focused on several endeavors this year. In addition to ensuring we have a consistent social media presence across platforms, we are looking to create a more strategic social media and communications plan to increase awareness of our various resources (e.g., newsletters, websites, opportunities for engagement). We also plan to update our website to streamline our members’ experience and ease with which they find information. Lastly, we are also brainstorming additional ways that we can disseminate knowledge of clinical child and adolescent psychology to the larger professional and lay populations.
